Does Anyone Still Trade Airchecks On Cassette?

I'm more apt to do tape trading via US mail than uploading/downloading audio. Just my $0.02 worth.

I still do, although finding casettes will become harder as soon as the nearby K-Mart closes for good. I don't trade through file uploading services, since I still use a dialup connection and a computer from the previous century.

I don't want to take my time and money and get tapes and mailing slips and paying postal costs, its more easy to do the internet thing, end of my rant and $.02

Nope. Matter of fact, over the past year I've transferred everything worth keeping to CD and threw away literally hundreds of aircheck cassettes that I've been hauling around for 20-some years. It was my first major project after building the home studio.

cassettes still rule.....they last long and don't get scratched or skip like a CD.

No disrespect adamgre, but CDs dont get muddy over the years. And they only scratch or skip if they arent handled properly.

I, when I trade (rarely, for scheduling reasons), still use cassettes, for budgetary reasons. :-[However, if anyone else is planning to throw away hundreds of cassettes, feel free to send them to me instead. ;)

Most of the people I trade with prefer cassettes or CDs. I don't mind that at all, but when I'm really busy I also do the MP3 thing. But yeah, I love cassettes still. They're the sturdiest media on earth. You drop them, you sit on them (as I have), and they're still going strong. Can't do that with iPods (though I love them too).
