Does anyone think this is weird?

I just got my tickets to see Jim Norton (of Opie and Anthony of XM) and Dave Attell at the Borgata in May. On the ticket it says "Preston and Steve present" Jim Norton and Dave Attell. Anyone else think this is weird? Jimmy is a major part of O&A, plus with the rumor going around that O&A may replace David Lee Roth, O&A would be direct competition. I just found it strange, anyone else think so?

Often a radio stations/personalities will sponsor a certain amount of shows at different local venues as a sort of advertisement. Usually it is music related, but you wouldn't see MMR sponsoring a Snoop Dogg show at the FU Center. The Preston & Steve endorsement is probably related to the fact that they are a "funny" show, but obviously someone dropped the ball on this one.

This reminds me of when YSP started providing links to musician websites (before the FREEfall change), and they posted a link to Dee Snider that led people from WYSP.com to WMMR.com.

Dropped the ball? That's a brilliant job by WMMR's marketing and promotions staff.

In a perfect world you could say that XM should be the title sponsor of any performance done by Norton, but that's not going to happen.

Do you see MMR doing any on air spots to promote this one, or do you think they will they just leave the sponsorship on the ticket?

I was thinking if anyone dropped a ball, maybe it was someone at WYSP, because quite a few (if not all) of Jimmy's Philly-area shows in the past 4 or 5 years have been presented (or, at least, fairly heavily promoted) by WYSP.<P ID="signature">______________

Norton does call in to other shows so you never know.
