Does Detroit have an easy listening station?

VChimp,

98.7 'The Breeze' is the closest thing to Easy Listening and it just came on last fall.

WRCJ is owned by the City of Detroit, and operates as a Public (non-NPR affiliated) station playing classical music.

WNIC does air 80s songs which trend lite at Noon and 8PM. WOMC is a mix.

So, no real Easy Listening station although The Breeze is close. The show has little to do with Detroit. Many of the outside shots weren't even made here, so they're just taking artistic license with the radio thing. It's not a bad show though. Gardell was good on the first two seasons of Mike & Molly, but then that show went off the rails when Melissa McCarthy got the diva disease.

They probably wouldn't do real radio stations, though I do remember a movie that had WRIF and pretended the station did a sports talk show along with the rock.

Yes, that was 'The Upside of Anger' starring Kevin Costner. That one actually was filmed in Detroit and Ann Arbor. The 1989 movie 'Collision Course' starring Jay Leno and 'Beverly Hills Cop III' featured the voice of the legendary Dick Purtan on the radio using segments made specifically for inclusion into the movies.
