Does Elvis Still Matter

Today is the 28th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death. When I had the chance I flipped around the dial to see if anyone was playing anything by him (mostly B101, Oldies 103, Cool102, and WROR). Didn't hear anything by him.

Does Elvis still matter to radio programmers, or has he passed into the "undesirable" demographic?

Just wondering.

I have'nt heard Elvis on the Bee or anywhere else on the dial for about 2 months.Even The Beatles are getting played far and in between, less and less.
Could it have something to do with the Micheal Jackson Trial.Knowing he owns the rights to The Beatles music.A conspiracy or coinsidence.

He does at WATD 95.9 FM

We Still play the King in our Regular rotation, both early and late.

Suspicious Minds and Burning Love still get airplay on B101.Frankly the lack of Elvis has more to do with most of his hits being pre-1964.Both In The Ghetto and Kentucky Rain should qualify for airplay even with today's emphasis on late 60s and 70s.Oldies 103 in Boston still plays these but then they still go back to 1964 even though they've successfully added the same 70s songs B101 has.

This is RI. No one really believes Elvis is dead here anyway.
