As much as I dislike Eva, I doubt that she'll be kicked to the curb so that Rush, the nearly Rush one, and the rest of the "hey we're kinda like Rush too" shows on ancient modulation can land on the newest sensation since the 1970s - FM.
I'm going to take a wild guess here and say that Eva works for less than the Nearly Bald One, and paying someone to voice track a shift...er, sorry..."Premium Choice Programming" is considerably cheaper than paying whatever live and local warm bodies still manage to inhabit the halls of KFYI.
Which of course brings up another thing I've been wondering about...talk radio on FM isn't exactly setting the world on fire, and it is - unless you want your station to be on the bird 24/7 - expensive to do. Given the choice between planting low paid canned jocks and a cookie cutter format...er, sorry..."Premium Choice Programming" on an FM signal, or an intrepid (and expensive) news/talk staff, I'd have to go with my inner accountant and say that KFYI will stay parked on the old KOY signal until it eventually goes the way of the old KOY.
I was watching a video of El Rushbo ranting the other day, and for the life of me I can't figure how he relates to anyone just now entering the 25-54 demo, or why they'd go out of their way to tune a device which they don't use as much as their parents did to a frequency which their grandparents listened to in order to hear a guy who isn't talking to them anyway.
