Does Grey Cup Go All-Out on Commericals like Super Bowl?

on ESPN3 (internet feed), the commericals are being blacked out. Do Canadian businesses go all-out on commericals like American companies do, or is it not that big deal because the game is on cable (TSN)?
 
I saw the Grey Cup in the past when it was on CBC -- back then (at least), they weren't as hot and heavy on special commercials as the Super Bowl. Many of the commercials were the same ads you would find as on a regular CFL game.

As far as I know, even in Canada, the Grey Cup, while it is revered as part of Canadian culture, is not as big a hoopla as the Super Bowl.
 
For some reason, the Grey Cup also airs on something called America One, which also replaces the Canadian ads from TSN.
 
The Super Bowl first went prime time in January 1978 (SB XII). How many years has the GC been in prime time?

Game Seven of the Stanley Cup Finals would be closer to the Canadian equivalent of the
Super Bowl, I think.

You've got to remember that Canada is a country with 1/10 of our population. So the
economies of scale to not make it as attractive to so many companies to go all-out on
a one time ad buy.

The network has changed, although the ad subbing probably hasn't...NFL Network picked up the US rights to the CFL a couple years ago.

Only for the regular season games. The East and West Finals and the Grey Cup were distributed by America One. I watched these games via Altitude Sports.

While on the topic of the Grey Cup..

Congratulations to the BC Lions. They outplayed the Winnipeg Blue Bombers last night.
