Does HD Radio Need to Convince the "Techies" First ?

I found this article on Electronic Design - "High-Definition Radio: It's The New Wave", March 2006. As you can see, from the title, HD Radio technology is the new thing - but wait, take a look at the comments, after the article (as probably read by "techies"). I have read that HD Radio may have to convince the "techies" first (look at the amount of time David spends on the "techie" boards), but it looks like that may be doubltful:

Since the marketing to the consumer of HD started only 72 hours ago, this paragraph...

"With its free high-clarity programming, you'd think consumers would be clamoring for HD Radio. But there's been a long wait for the radios themselves, which are finally arriving. Even still, few consumers even know it exists. Like the satellite radio industry, HD Radio will need time to get recognized and adopted. "

... seems a bit ingenuous.

Consumers will only be learning about HD en masse in the next months, which is when radios at lower price points start showing up at major retailers.

I just posted that article - there is no way you could have read it so quickly, then written a rebuttal - there was the initial article, then MANY reader comments. What, are you using a "wrote" script, including the many thousands of posts you have made, over numerous boards.

You mean "rote". Doesn't matter...David's right on this one.

Blah... Blah... Blah... :D Yea, David is right, and all the "techies" are wrong ! Do you really think, you both are fooling anyone ? David, and including you, are so desperate, that you don't even take the time to read the posted links - you see, David needs to cover himself, including in the middle of the night, numerous boards.

Actually, that's a better question for you. I haven't tried to assert any opinion, other than a disagreement with yours.

Do you think you are fooling anyone with your links to other people's opinions?

How is posting links, to other peoples' opinions, fooling anyone ?

Again nice try. That wasn't my question.

Do you think you're fooling anyone with your links to opinions?

I answered your question. It was no. I don't think I'm fooling anyone. I haven't posted any links to anything. I also haven't spent hundreds of posts trying to convince people of anything, either.

Ah, it is "rote" if you mean mechanical or habitual repetition. "Wrote" is past tense of "write."

No, I did not read the whole article because my BS filter kicked in after a couple of paragraphs, when I realized I was reading crap. And that is when I posted.

Ah David, you really are losing steam, when you have no better response, than to correct someone's grammer. Now, let's hear your counters to the readers' comments, instead. Do you mean crap, into the initial article, because those were my feelings, and EVERY person, who posted a comment.

I really enjoy your tactics. "Ah David, you are really losing steam...". Are you really so deparate that you have to try and "position" someone?

Wow! This is getting interesting. Especially since HD is now at the top of the site. I'm excited that more people will be able to see what's going on here.

Try, posting something of value...

Do the same, and I may consider it.

Anyway, I don't need to. I don't need to convince anyone.

The reader comments, most from back in April, are mostly "anonymous" and probably posted by you or your twin.

I loved the one about 50 kw AMs reducing power since they don't get skywave based "national revenue and audience" when there is a) no national revenue from skywave since there are no national ratings, b) in large markets, you need 50 kw to just get full market coverage and, c) the cost savings for any 50 kw clear channel station are only a tiny percentage of revenue. KFI bills $50 million... the light bill from the transmitter is about $7000 a month. Big deal.

In other words, most of the comments were based on lack of data or hostility, just like most of yours.

By the way, I did not correct your grammar. I corrected your word usage. You used the wrong WORD.
