Does KCTI not do anything local any more?

Does KCTI not do anything Local any more? Seems everything is satellite fed from somewhere. They don't even have a afternoon DJ any more?

I think he's talking about 1450 KCTI as the FM was sold a number of years ago and flipped to smooth jazz before being sold to EMF and going Christian. Their schedule indicates a little bit of local programming from 6 AM to 1 PM, but it looks like it's all syndicated or automated outside of those hours.

Of course, that assumes they keep up their website, which isn't really a priority for most stations.

Yep 1450, They have very little local programming than they use to. I wish they covered the Cowboys like they use to. They seem to have got rid of everything good on that station.

KCTI-AM 1450 in Gonzales, Texas has more local content than 95% of the radio stations in Texas. You obviously have spent no time on research.

You went right for the throat... ;D
Yeah, Tesh is a bad idea... but there is still local content, even during his afternoon yawn... I mean program.

I like the Polka shows they air in the mornings. I like the fact that they speak German, even though it really isn't needed. You may have two folks in Weimar that only speak German.

Yes, but many others who do in addition to English...and they don't want it to get rusty!

Back in the 70s and 80s when I occasional listened to KCTI-AM and FM, they appeared to be live and local from about 6:00 AM to around 10:00 PM.

What happened to the afternoon show? They use to have a local one but now it is John Tesh. They also had a local high school talk on Fridays when High school football is on, now its a state wide network.

Any word on why KCTI-AM stopped being an affiliate of the Astros Radio Network?

In the late 90s, KCTI-AM and FM were affiliates, but when KCTI-FM flipped to K-Love, KCTI-AM remained an affiliate. I'm pretty sure KCTI-AM was an affiliate until 2009.
