For you all that flip between stations have you all notice anything about KOOL??? I think sounds a lot better than it was before Christmas. The mix of music selections sounds like the tradional oldies station that was around on the old COOL before Cox screwed it up and told Pat Garrett to take his feet to. I want to hear you opinions.

KOOL doesn't sound any different than it did before the holidays.
They'll get some ratings when a PD comes in who actually knows the music. It's just been over a year since COOL has been gone and your already settling for less? KOOL is one of the worst oldies station we've ever heard.

Scatman I should have known you would start the new year off in a negative way. Come lets have 2006 positive were not in 2005 okay....

KOOL sound better?

But he's right.

The awful truth is almost no company is going to put major resources into a format they perceive as on the downslide. They'll put it on secondary signals and get the most they can with a minimum investment.

Doesn't mean I agree with it- that's just the way things are today for Oldies.

I agree it sounds to me as though they are trying to have a classic rock station set to oldies. i also agree with the next post oldies is a doomed format?
i would like to hear better station than kool 100.7 but nothing has changed.

Does anybody have an idea what format Kool should switch to?

Format

If this was the case I would go on the bases and take it to a Variety Hits station and market the hell out of it any way. Heck at least they could still keep Arf and Tom Murphy, but right now I think KOOL should just stick out for the next six to tweleve months and if all else fails then a format flip should be in order. If they do that there is one thing they should leave alone: The Call Sign. That WKQL call sign is a heritage call sign to Jacksonville and it should not be trashed. Cox made the mistake of trashing and Renda did have the sense enough to pick it up and use it.

I thought it had to be in the top 10 or so for 20 years to be considered a heritage station maybe I,m wrong but wkql has only in existance for about 10 or 11 year?
sorry about the spelling and yes 100.7 i hope will remain an oldies station but they need to sound better.
To me they are trying to sound like arrow 100.7 with an oldies flavor.
