How come Loveline is on some rock stations? I really don't care for this show and adult content being talked about in such a way. I just want to hear music not talk especially not erotica. Do listeners really enjoy this show late at night or what? It should be on talk stations like Free FM.

Does Loveline really do well on rock?

This falls into the category of what should radio be? Should it just be a jukebox and play music, or should it attempt to fit the lifetsyle of the audience? This radio show grew out of the change at MTV away from being a video jukebox to becoming a channel that appeals to the demo regardless of musical taste. I think as musical tastes continue to splinter, and everyone in the audience seeks more personalized places to hear music, radio has to adapt and become more of a lifestyle service. Shows like this one fit that bill.

But yea...I never got that. I think it started on KROQ in LA, so somewhere along the line other rock stations thought that it was part of rock programming? follow the leader sure, but huh? Metallica and sex advice for 16 year olds? at 11pm? go to sleep. wake up for school. keep it in yer pants...pleanty of time to get freaky when you graduate!
Its a great show for what it is, and really gets some #s. but wouldnt it be better suited for a Top 40/CHR???
