Does New York City really need a third hip hop station?

There is no need to fill NYC with a third urban station. Party FM needs to be Dance and Vic Latino knows that.

Again, they aren't an "urban" or "Hip Hop" station. They are the true and original meaning of the word "Rhythmic" when it comes to radio.
The station isn't aimed at Dance Purists. The station isn't aimed at Hip Hop Heads. It takes the best of both worlds, much like you would hear at 90% of the clubs or parties that you would go to in the Tri-State. Consider it Top 40 without the Rock.
Whether you like it or not is up to you but let's not start making stuff up about what the station is.

They do play a lot of hip hop, so saying "#1 for hip hop & today's hits" is more accurate for them, even though I still think a simpler "hits & hip hop" would work, despite the fact that "hits" is what you'd hear or see first within the slogan.
I wasn't under the impression New York had any full-time hip-hop stations. Only two R&B stations masquerading as Hip-Hop.

You're correct. WAXQ 104.3 bill themselves as a Classic Rock station. They do play nothing but Classic Rock. WQXR identify themselves as a Classical music station which they play only Classical music.
WQHT (Hot 97) which reports to Arbitron as a Rhythmic Mix station is more known as a Hip-Hop station.
The thread should read, "Does New York Need a Wall to Wall Hip Hop Station?"

Since approximately 11 people actually own an "HD" radio, 106.7 HD2 doesn't count.

What would you say is the overall demand for a country music station in New York City? Would a country station have enough cume to build enough AQH to attract decent billing to make the station profitable and economically feasable? How well did the former WHN-AM 1050, WKHK-FM 106.7 and later WYNY-FM, first on 97.1, later moving to 103.5, perform in the ratings with a country format? In other words is there a large enough country audience base in NYC to make it worth while to "blow up" and existing FM station and reintroduce it as a profitable country station?

Jmtillery is giving you the "tools" (in form of the questions) right there to do the research on. That is what you have to prove and be persistent on. It worked for dance music fans

I'm not a country fan but are you serious with that comment? lol Well for that matter then, NYC MOST certainly does NOT need another Hip Hop station either, since the genre has been completely played out on NY radio in recent years.

Thanks to Kanye West, New York only know and care about one country music artist Taylor Swift. Good Country stations has been here (NYC)in the past and they all died.
