Does Providence need another Country Station?

I agree with WKND92. About the only time WCTK sends listeners looking somewhere else for country music is when NASCAR is on. There would be no sense in just running another country format with nothing to distinguish it from WCTK's. My opinions about classic hits formats needing to dig deeper & farther back don't extend to classic country. Too many country listeners in this area didn't grow up with the format. WCTK's audience is loyal. The station is live all day & overnight. The jocks are good. There's a full stable of weekenders the audience is familiar with. The contests are fun & effective. If a second country station signed on, WCTK's numbers might be affected slightly because it would be inevitable but it wouldn't be profitable enough for the new guys in town.
