Does Sirius pay better than terrestrial radio?

I have noticed that several of the people who work on HOWARD 100 NEWS were former bigshots in the NYC media such as George Flowers (radio), Lisa G (radio/TV), and Penny Chrone (TV).

The question is, does Sirius pay these employees enough money to leave terrestrial radio and local television?

George Flowers apparently was doing part time stuff here and there, Crone was out of work fired. Lisa G I dunno.

From on the air comments Stern's people all got bumps.

I imagine its supply and demand. If they want you more then you need them...

I think (though I'm not sure) they are being paid out of the half billion that went to Stern as part of his content delivery contract to Sirius - in which case, they cut their deals with him and not Sirius.
As for the other Sirius talents (at least the music hosts), this is just an educated guess but I suspect their contracts are only comparable to or slightly better than major market radio. At least they have the flexibility though to voice track and have their days free for other work.
