Since we have so many threads going about the 8200...
One of the things I heard about the 8200 several years ago was that the preset you choose before making any other adjustments has an effect on the sound of the finished product.
In other words - if you started with the ROCK-MEDIUM preset, you would get a different result if you started with a different preset and put in the exact same settings - so each preset has internal settings you can't adjust.
The person I heard this from was the director of engineering for one of the major radio groups (one of the top 5) so that would tend to give the statement some credibility, but I've always wondered if it was really true or not. In his opinion, the ROCK-MEDIUM preset was the best one to start with and supposedly the most similar to the 8100 with an XT2.
Has anyone else ever heard this? Can anyone prove or disprove it?
