Does 'Til Tuesday fit 97.1 format?

Sure it was a noontime request + there's Aimee Mann, but I thought a little outside their demographic-

They've been adding late '80s to their rotation of late (been hearing Cutting Crew quite a bit there), so I really would not have given it a second thought.

This makes the first time in recent memory that they have been able to add (or delete) titles from an existing playlist, because it is the first time in recent memory that they have been able to hold on to a format long enough for such tweaking. Usually they try something, it fails, then they go on to something else.

Couldn't be any further outside their format than hearing the live version of the Eagles 'Hotel California' on Hippie Radio. Yep, heard it.

Which is odd because they only had one hit song of worth... so what you're saying is, you're hearing "a bit of (I Just) Died In Your Arms"?

A little late to this party, aren't you? Anywho, I believe I've also heard A-Ha, Mr. Mister, and Katrina & the Waves there lately, but I believe it is still their "one-hit-per-artist" policy. Of course, some of them were one-hitters, anyway.

The Cutting Crew had two hits. "I've Been in Love Before" was also a top 10 hit.
It was indeed a minor top 10 which got mostly AC airplay after its top 40 days were over, and probably doesn't even get AC airplay anymore.

Apparently, radio wants us to conveniently forget that some of these groups had second (and in some cases, third) hits (and this would also include the Outfield as well), and instead remember them all as one-hitters. After all, it's a lot easier to program a station if you only play one hit per group, no matter how many actual hits they may have had!
