Does WJBQ pitch their music?

They do sound different that what I thought when I was in the area. WMME sounded much more like a typical Top40 station sound while WJBQ sounded a little bit more... pitched.... the WSKX repeater also sounded different from JBQ, do they pitch or what do they do ?

WJBQ has been known to pitch their music to the equivalent of 49 to 50 rpm - i SWEAR this is true! They SOOOOO speed up the music it's like SOOO Noticeable!

Ever listen to a West Coast station? They NEVER speed up their music. Try listening on-line - you'll see what I mean. It's that whole East Coast in-a-hurry mentality. My God! First they pitch the music 1 to 2 percent, then the next thing you know, Teddy McKay is gonna say "BOOGER" on the radio and wind up in Cincinnati... (Teddy - give it a try! It'll be the R&R Leap-Of-The-Week!)

I once lent some of my vinyl LP's to the Q (back when they were 98 JB................Q) and not one of them would play properly at 33 1/3 when I got them back. I had to use that quaint little speed control we used to have to speed them up so they'd sound right.

I swear, Will - YOU have found the cause celeb today! We don't need no stinkin' HipHop! We need to STOP THE FREAKIN Q from SPEEDING UP THE MUSIC!

Dude, you should be in the music police or something.

Peace. Out. Bye. I'm Leaving. Really. I'm soooo outta here. Go on - click the f'ing mouse! I'm Done! Nothing more to see here. What the (BLEEP) are you waiting for? Skeedaddle! Am-scray! What? You think this is an End-Of-Credits movie bit? I'm serious - get a life and move on....

(tee hee hee - speeding up the music.... hahahahaha.... next thing is you'll tell me that people aren't REALLY on the radio anymore.... LOL. ROFLPMDLMAO.... (...pissin my depends laughing my.... )

ok.....
No, i do like pitching the music on CHR's, why not? It sounds really fresh and new, unlike the plain CHR's that sound like the track on our iPod's or CD's.
WJBQ, do not stop. Continue the pitching. (up to 6%)

Especially that Fergie song "Glamorous", god, B97 used to pitch the song way too much
but it was good in a way.

Any CHR that is not pitching 2%, should consider it. Great way to sound fresh, on top of the hits, and it even makes the slow/burnt songs sound good.

This is exactly the difference between The Wolf and WPOR. The Wolf sounds like it's on Red Bull; WPOR sounds like it's on prozac. (no offense to anyone on prozac).

huh... i never noticed The Wolf pitching at all or WPOR slow
then again I don't listen to country so...

would you say that WJBQ pitches at 2%? higher? lower?
