Does WNCI need a 92X-like competitor?

Does WNCI need a CHR competitor, like 92X and Hot/Kiss used to be?
My answer is yes...Competition makes any form of business stronger. Lately, Mix 97.1 has been sounding much more CHR-like. I think 'BNS could be a great CHR competitor for 'NCI, even though they are still basically a Hot AC with a rhythmic lean(Much like Q102 is in Cincy).

Yes, WNCI needs some competition, and I think BNS could really make a dent; they're already taking listeners from, and hurting ratings for other stations in this market, which is a good sign (I find myself listening more and more). BUT, they need better personalities etc. While I don't think he's the greatest, I do like Mark Dancer; the morning show is just another "let's laugh at each other" blah show and the mid-day chick on after Alan Cable is very annoying and makes me turn the dial...so yes, they are starting to sound great...but they need to invest in some talent. WBNS just doesn't sound "power house" enough...as much as I hate to say it, NCI is a pretty polished machine, not just in sound, but in imaging and on-air personalities (with exception to the zoo, who are so tired)...BNS still isn't there yet...they need new imaging etc. to compete more. Just my opinion as I hear it when I listen, I mean no offense.

Maybe Saga's Mix 107.9 should ditch Hot AC and change to a more mainstream level like CHR. It should be called Energy 107.9 or Hits 107.9 to compete with them, oh and also ditch that normal pitch to go to a 3% or 5% pitch like sisters Z95.5 in Ithaca or Energy 106.9 in Milwaukee. That will make it totally compete with WNCI, like they slighty do right now.
