The rumor is a total collaps of Y94 in the Fall trend phase 1.Now tied for #8 25-54,tied with 95X(?),getting beaten by Krock!
Can Y94 really be a 3 share station?

Trend. What's that, about 250-300 diaries if you're lucky (or unlucky?) Jack ain't the answer. Not in Buffalo, not in Toronto, not in Syracuse. Definitely not in NYC.</font>

Didn't we go through this last year? Give it up, please.

If he keeps predicting that every station will go Jack, sooner or later he might be right. There are some people in Syracuse so far behind the curve that they don't realize Jack is a failed format which may offer an initial bump, but has no legs. The attraction is that it doesn't need any of those darn "disk jockeys". Jack also doesn't breed any listener loyalty, and is easy to sell against.

> Jack isn't really working anywhere. Their only success is by reducing airstaff and running cheap. That's what makes Jack look attractive to the bean counters. So you have to weigh good ratings and good incoming revenue (not being Jack) against running with a tiny budget (Jack) so the bottom line looks good. The second option may work for the short run but there isn't any future in it. That has been proven over & over again.
I used to think Y-94 was one of the greatest sounding stations around. I liked the music they played and the live & local personalities. It was a fun station to listen to. Maybe the answer is to look to the past.

OK, I will. Thank you for your concern. (it's what people on this board say when someone is putting a boot to their eye and have no creative comeback.)

An intelligent post! WYYY and WAQX (I'll slide them into this discussion), two of the longest running stations in Syracuse have lost their way. Sometimes it's just beyond me how they could have fallen this far.
