Does Your iHeart Talk Station Run "Somewhere in Time with Art Bell" Sat. Nights?
I'm in the NYC area but WOR does not carry Somewhere in Time. I have to listen to another iHeart talk station on live streaming. It seems most of the large market iHeart talk stations run something else, be it infomercials or another talk show, including repeats of Rush or Hannity from earlier in the week. Yet when you get below the large markets, and mostly in smaller markets, iHeart stations do carry Art Bell.
It's a great show. Bell may have had trouble dealing with his personal demons, which led to his frequent but temporary retirements, and eventually led to his death. But on the air, he was terrific. A great voice, a fine sense of making a talk show work, and a sincere belief in the paranormal makes this show timeless. Most episodes are from the mid to late 1990s.
Sometimes there are references to current events, making you realize it's an old show. But most of the time, the show does not sound dated. When discussing UFOs or ghosts or aliens, the shows can sound like a modern-day episode.
Stations carrying the show include WGY-AM-FM Schenectady-Albany, WQSO Rochester-Portsmouth and WGIR Manchester. When you look at the list of shows on an iHeart talk station's website, Somewhere in Time is listed instead as Coast to Coast AM. But when you see C2C begins at 10pm ET instead of 1am, you know it's Somewhere in Time.
