Doesn't look like....

Well it doesn't look like anyone will be flipping to Christmas Music this year! Not even WLEV who has for the last 2 years. They would have had a weekend spotlight on Christmas music by now and I haven't heard any promos for it either.

rumor on the street is that WLEV is indeed not doing all christmas this year.

lite 93.5 from stroudsburg probably will do it since their former incarnation at 107.1 did it, but 93.5 is fringe in the valley. WEST is gone. wow. the valley may go christmas-less.

an idea ... nassau should flip frank fm in reading to all christmas. frank puts a decent signal into the valley. i wouldnt recommend doing it with the hawk since they do fine in the ratings but frank is still behind y-102 by quite a bit, so this may help generate some attention for them.

3 posts in and no one ripping you for saying christmas and not holiday music?? wow.. there maybe hope for the world yet. lol

Reading and the Lehigh Valley have 101.1 for christmas music...that is if b-101 is even playing christmas music.

PS: anyone who says holiday music instead of CHRISTMAS music should be punched in the face THIS IS AMERICA...just thought i'd vent it out...thanks for the point reptimania!

B-101 Isn't that a Philly station? The only thing Philly is good for is the International Airport!

WGPA is and always has been the true Christmas station in the Lehigh Valley. Starting friday 11-23 WGPA will play a 2 Christmas songs an hr whenever a music program is airing.

comes in clear in reading and allentown

philly is good for "cheesesteaks"!,"the sound of philadelphia"!,and "98.1 WOGL".what about LITE 93.5 going 24/7 christmas music next week? bah-HUMBUG! WLEV....

Yeah..I guess the Grinch resides on Avenue C. B 101 will have to suffice. At least they do put a good signal into the Valley.

B101 does not come in very well in the eastern end of the Valley. Where I live WCBS competes with it in the car. On my home stereo, B101's signal is fair at best.

However, 93.5 out of Stroudsburg does come in loud and clear, especially in areas such as Nazareth, Easton, Phillipsburg, etc. I guess you might start calling it a fringe station in Allentown, but I still get a fair signal up by the malls in my car.

As many of you know, there is a station in Harrisburg on the same frequency.

If I were B 104, I'd put Christmas on an HD 2 channel and stream it on line. They might be surprised how many hits they get during the holidays.

between the talk of cheesesteaks and guys name yocco.. i'm getting hungry... but not one of you have talked about a radio station worth listening too... and that's the sad truth about lehigh valley radio. from 5 am to 10 pm .. wmmr has better radio talent than all the lehigh valley stations combined... and no one does anything with the community except for the holidays to bring in the listeners .. (something ken did very well b4 the genius's of clear channel management let him go to fall behind an am station in ratings) we have over 2 million households in the lehigh valley and god knows how many stations .. and the only stations i tune my dial to are philly stations and sirius satelite radio.. imagine that.. i'd rather pay for decent tunes than to listen to the free crap spewed forth by our local stations... and that is truly a shame. so u management gurus on here .. u might wanna get in touch with the fan base here b4 they decide to never come back.. caus your ship is sinking and it seems to be beached in quicksand.

i agree, the only station that comes close to WMMR, is The Bone...maybe YSP, but they all beat ZZO (in my opinion)..oh the new 1045 rocks too

Here it is 12/22 and I can hardly wait for WLEV to get back to its normal format! If I hear them play one more stupid combination of Variety and Holiday Variety I'll barf! I've heard them do Baby it's cold outside and follow that with You Give Love A Bad Name, Sleigh Ride into Smoke From A Distant Fire and O Holy Night into Down on the Street. Do these jocks have no way to override the comupter? I mean come on! This is why I've never liked this mixed format over the last 30 years of listening to the radio. Oh well, I'm leaving the Valley on 12/24 to be with my family, so I can grin and bear it a little bit longer. Merry Christmas and A Happy and Healthy New Year to all!

Try listening to "Continuous Holiday Favorites" all day long at work, and you'll quickly appreciate how WLEV is only mixing the Christmas tunes into their regular playlist. There's only so many times a day you can stand to hear Madonna, Hall & Oates, and Carrie Underwood stumble their way through and butcher up Christmas classics.

However, the Rod Stewart & Dolly Parton version of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" is actually very good, and I give props to WLEV for being one of the few stations to play it.

If you don't like what LEV is offering, then flip your radio to 99.9. That's who we listen to at work. They're not too rocky. We used to listen to LEV back when it was Soft Rock. Alot of their music is way too modern now.
