Doggy gonna flip ?

Been hearing background noise on The Dog all weekend. Sounds like hammering and stuff. Could this be a subtle hint towards a format jump? Or did Scortch leave the mic open all weekend? I mean really, there are 3 stations going after the same very small bean. Anyone..... anyone...... anyone.....

Let's look at the facts...

The Dog has had awful ratings for years.
The Dog has been unable to take advantage of the demise of 95X.
Tweaking the format hasn't worked.
Rumors of a format flip on The Dog have be posted for two freakin' years.

Sooner or later, you have to be right, huh?

Well, you'd think so, right! It's kinda sad when there are 3 classic rock stations fighting over the same moldy 70's & 80's records. Talk about super-serving an audience. And on the flip side one country station live high-on-the-hog doin' the same-ole, same-ole shuffle. Damn!

Oldies 105 (or the like)... maybe. Y105FM... nah!... Jack... ??? Anyone... anyone....

The only reason they don't flip is due to the lack of brain power. There's a hole in the market. A hole the size of Bob Congels ego. Destiny Radio. Imagine if you will, a whole signal dedicated to Destiny USA. It could broadcast the wonderment of the joys to come in the world of tomorrow.

Face it

People have been predicting the Dog would flip almost since its inception. No one has been right up to now. If you predicted a flip a year ago, and many were, you were wrong. Will it eventually flip? Since most stations do at one point or another, the odds are in favor of an eventual flip. I cannot wait to see the "told you so" posts when it happens, when the fact is everyone has been wrong. I can hardly wait to read the next "Dog Flipping" thread 3 months from now. And I will re-post this post.

Maybe

You could lend them some of your "Elmira Brainpower".

Hey Barb, do I detect a little growl in yur voice? This was simply an observation. Maybe you can tell us all what the "extended radio mix" was all about. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-

Sorry

I did not mean to come off as angry, as as much as irritated. The "Dog Flipping?" rhetoric has haunted this board for years. And all the experts who know so much about successful programming have led the charge. My point is, if you keep bringing it up, eventually someone is going to be right. I predict TK will flip too. I also predict the continents will eventually join again....

Puppy Love

The real surprise is that The Dog HASN'T flipped. It isn't doing anything useful with the current format. It's not even effective as a spoiler.

I guess it is effective at keeping some guys with real radio faces employed and off the street...

Re: Puppy Love

It's a glorified high school project...

without the listeners...

Could someone tell me why no one in Syracuse has tried Talk or Sports
on FM. The rest of the country is on board. Good god, how much classic
rock can people take. If I hear Money by Pink Floyd or one more Led
Zepplin rock block I am going to hurl. Do something different. The
hell with music, everyone has IPODS anyway. 95x already owns
ESPN 1260, just move it to 95x and expand coverage of local sports and
you could blow WHEN out of the water, you already have SU sports.
Yes, yes, sports radio gets no ratings, but you start doing more local
stuff and the money will be there. Would you rather have ratings or money.

Please

do not change the subject to Galaxy's Albany rock stations.
We are talking about the Dog here.
