Don and Mike and WIOD

Don and Mike ,on their first day on WMEN, referred to bad blood that WIOD talkers Randi Rhodes, Rick and Suds and Neil Rogers had with them. Can anyone tell me the story of this feud.

Neil Rogers used to say how much Don & Mike sucked, even when D&M's show was replayed at night on WIOD back in the early to mid 90s. Neil still play's the drop of Don saying "WIOD, OH I HATE THAT STATION!" I believe Rick & Suds and Randi (the goddess) would just chime in on the same thing Neil had started. If I rember correctly, D&M had replaced Hank Goldberg's short lived "Golderg at Night" entertainment show, before WIOD fired him for the second time. Hank had been the color comentator for the Miami Dolphins for years (Rick Weaver was the long time play-by-play and Henry Barrow was the sideline reporter). I believe Hank replaced Larry King in the late 70's or early 80's and was on WTVJ for years with Ned Smith and Tony Segreto. Actually, I belive Tony Segreto might have filled in for a year or so as the Dolphins color guy, or maybe it was the Hurricanes games with Sonny Hirsch, before Joe Zagacki. I miss the old WIOD days.....Big Wilson, Larry King, Mike Reneri, Sonny, and later Neil, Steve Kane, Rick & Suds, Phil Hendrie, Jim Mandich, Jeff DeForrest, ect..... It was a GREAT station!
