Don Bombard/Bob Shannon

The New York board and All Access are reporting he is out at CBS-FM -apparently for health reasons. Hope he's going to recover from whatever the issue is. Many of us listened to him and knew him when he was in Syracuse.

Word coming out of NYC is that it's being treated by CBS--and by Bob Shannon and his family--as a retirement, at least from daily on-air work. CBS was hoping he'd be able to come back, which is why his name was kept on the WCBS-FM website a long time after his last show and their midday announcers kept saying they were "filling in" for him for several months, before Ron Parker was formally listed as midday host this summer.
