Don Imus on KSTE

The WABC Radio Network just signed a deal for Don Imus on KSTE.

They will clear him live from 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. so the last hour is lost.

So if you get up early or stay up late you can now find Imus in Sac.

Isn't there a station in Sacramento that would air his show sometime between 6:00 a.m. and noon?

In Santa Rosa he's on KSRO 1350 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. In LA it's KABC from 3:00 a.m to 5:00 a.m. only.

Has anyone heard Imus on KSTE yet?

Newsperson

I checked it out Thursday & Friday......I believe it was Thursday when the KSTE automation played a spot or PSA over the intro of Hour One......which relates to a common board complaint - simple errors aired frequently.

The program has been sheared down in intensity after Imus' Rutgers flap, although Rob Bartlett can still be fairly edgy & intense....I've been picking up the WABC live feed, 3-7am, or hitting the podcasts....but I miss the politically incorrect material of years past.

Imus just hasn't been the same since he sobered up. We could use Rev. Billy Sol!

It's not the first time that there has been a board error on KSTE. I alerted Drew Sandsor when it happened over a Armstrong and Getty best of. I was told that one person was watching both the KFBK and KSTE boards. Of course Drew was a victim of the CC cuts. That should make their cluster more efficient...

There seems to be a board operator during the Savage show...they seem to edit him at least several times on half the shows that are broadcast on KSTE.

When I worked at CC, KSTE was completely automated weekdays except for A&G....Savage wasn't being monitored by a separate board op....

For some of the specialty programming on weekends, there were board ops...but Monday-Friday, it was all automated.

I can't see CC spending an extra dime on KSTE....and anyone who worked in radio knows you cannot effectively "board op" a live newscast in one studio and keep an eye on an automated feed in another studio at the same time - much less actively monitor all four {and five soon} in the cluster overnights, which is standard operating procedure at CC Sacramento.
