Don Imus to DJO

This is great, I love Imus on the Fox Business Ch. mornings, I live north of Cincinnati and listen to WDJO on my cellphone driving downtown to work in the mornings, it sounds great, this will make the 45 min drive that much more fun to listen, with the I-Man,

Ted has been doing a good job I have preferred Ted over Dusty, Ted presents the music, with the artist updates and where they are now info, he is fun to listen too..

I read in John Kiesewetters blog that Ted will be doing 9a-12 noon, Marty 12n-3pm, Jack 3pm-6pm, Roger K 6pm-9pm, so they are all still there , just some time changes.

Good Move 1480 bringing the I-Man back to Cinci' radio, I think he will work well with your music format, as does Ted, Marty, Jack, Roger and the other weekend DJ's .

WDJO - Where Dusty's Just Off!

I don't mind Don Imus. I know he got a raw deal earlier in this "politically correct" era, but I don't like this move on DJO. I can't help but think most listeners to DJO do it for the music. Now the sounds are gone on the morning drive. Shame.

Well bobo if you would have read the blog that *you* posted here, you would have already known the answer. ;)

<Can't wait to check out Imus again on Monday...since I cut the cable cord, it's been a quiet morning in my house>

This is a genius move. [EDIT]

Imus appeals to WDJO's demo and will bring new people to the station. Obviously the current format needs a boost and Imus will help.

[EDIT-reference to deleted material]

QRT had the option but, given the hosts age, Chuck McCord bailing and the health issue, they didn't want to have to get something established only to look for a replacement program in a year or so.

Don't know if i would break format for a couple dollars of "comp" money from the syndicator.....

Brilliant move.....I-Man compliments the Oldies format, election year, lack of engaging local a.m. programming......now I can turn in my DVR to Time Warner (saving $10.00/month) and finish at 1480-AM what I started on the Fox Business Channel at 6 a.m. I'll be listening! Thank you!

jry, please. They don't do comp money on Imus, and the show is better now than it's been in years. I don't know why you feel the need to come on here and comment like that, but I will listen to Imus over Deters any day. Deters is awful. There's no content and no humor there at all. Imus gets the best guests of anybody doing morning radio now. You should've put Imus on years ago. I don't see any problem with WDJO "breaking" format as so many Classic Rock stations do with Bob & Tom or Howard Stern in the old days. You swung and missed. Deters is a strikeout.

Elephant, the difference is that Deters is local and Imus ain't. It will be interesting to see how advertisers feel about Imus. Is he the newest "good guy"?

Speaking of good guys, the final chapter of the disgruntled grease monkey vs. DJO ends a week from Friday.

bobo, Deters may be local, but that doesn't make him good.  I don't understand this idea that "Local = Good."  That is such BS.  Deters's show is unlistenable.  Imus is entertaining, Deters is entertaining to people who like train wrecks and car accidents.  You can't look away, but eventually you do and you feel awful afterwards.

Imus being syndicated is his greatest asset.  I don't think I've heard Mitt Romney, Chris Wallace, Herman Cain, Terry Bradshaw, Phil Simms, Jim Nantz, John Kerry, John McCain, Jay Mohr, Bill O'Reilly or any of the others on this list:  http://www.imus.com/guests/ on Deters's show.

And we'll see how long Deters continues with his show when he gets bored with it.

Elephant, Please, having actually had some of the comp checks go through my fingers, i can tell you that you are wrong.
I like Don Imus. Been a fan for years. Was instrumental in hooking him up with Bishop G.E. Patterson, prior to his passing.

Whoa..... i thought that this deal was put to rest. Seems to me it was Alchemy 1, The Car Guy 0.

Sorry jry. I am NOT wrong. I know what the Cumulus folks are offering now. I'm not completely out of touch with my former industry. Don't try that with me.

WDJO will need to give them 5 minutes of commercial time to clear probably for each hour of the show, they do not get a check. This is a tool for the sales folks to use for sponsorships.

By the way JRY what happen to Cary Pall?

OOPS! I meant more like 115 minutes per week in barter for Imus!
