Don Imus made a racially-charged statement about an African-American athlete, this time new Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones.

During a conversation about Jones, who wants to drop his well-known nickname, Imus was told that Jones had "been arrested six times since being drafted by Tennessee in 2005."

Imus asked: "What color is he?" "He's African-American," sidekick Warner Wolf replied. "Well, there you go," Imus said. "Now we know."

So, when will Scott Shannon take him off True Oldies and replace with Randy & Spiff?
 
This should not even be an issue. Imus did nothing wrong or out of line. BTW True Oldies is what it is, "The True Oldies Channel" Shannon's Baby! I'm sure glad Atlanta has it. :D
 
106.7 would be better without Imus or NASCAR. Leave Imus to some low power AM daytimer and NASCAR to a country format.
 
Unfortunately, both NASCAR and Imus have contracts with WYAY, 106.7.

In the words of the Catepiller in "Alice in Wonderland" , "Explain yourself." AM1690 has the most eclectic and diverse music on the radio. While the ratings aren't there, and never will be, I give them mad props for doing it. This is what music radio should be. Would you rather hear Stairway for the 80,000,000,000,000,000,000th time?
 
I got Imus' back last time, but this one is obviously idiotic and over the line. Just take it back to the ranch dude.

And AM 1690 is the best for music in town.
 
So I take it AM-1690 fans like a nice opera piece next to some hillbilly jive then some James Brown music,then a nice spoken word piece and then top it off with a nice tune from Mexico. OK then go for it. At least you are supporting the AM band.

Am 1690 is a JOKE... Who in thier right minds, .... WAIT Sorry forgot who we are dealing with , the next P.D. Of one of Atlanta's worst stations... Stink fm...... Good luck programing that waste of air space.

Why should NASCAR be on a country format any more than on a rock format?

He's on his last bottle now.

I can't believe Scott Shannon allows him on True Oldies.

Oh, I forgot. Scott's ego.

He doesn't want anyone to out-perform or over-shadow him. Why else would he hire Freddie Brooks to do afternoons? No personality there.
