Don Spain passes

Long time broadcaster Don Spain passed away over the weekend at home. The obit in today's paper said from natural causes. Don had been on capaital hill covering the legislature for years for a weekly t-v program. He was, I believe, one of the founders of the Tenessee Radio Network, worked with Channel 4 and as the public spokesman for the Tenn Highway Patrol. A real gentleman who loved the business and was well liked. Never heard a bad work about him. Visitation is Tuesday from 3p-8p at the funeral home on Thompson Lane. Funeral is Wednesday

Buddy,
Sorry to hear about a loss of a broadcaster, but I never heard of him. Did he start in broadcasting before my time? I may have heard him, but the name doesn't ring a bell. Maybe if I heard his voice, I might know who he was.
