Donell Jones You Know That I Love You from 2002

I heard it on KJLH but it was a smooth jazz version with Kim Waters playing the saxophone. I was reading on the yes.com website and it has Kim Waters as the main artist when we all know that Donell Jones released it first. I love both the original & jazz version. The only thing I want to know is why does KJLH play the smooth jazz edit instead the original version?

KJLH played the original version when the song first came out. Then they mixed in the jazz version after a few spins. They did it with Luther Vandross Take You Out back in 2001. Nothing new KJLH has always played Smooth Jazz in the mix for years.

I know this for a fact. I haven't listened to KJLH enough in 2002 I used to listen to KKBT at that time. They do the same thing with Ruff Endz's Someone To Love You and KKBT played the original album versions of Donell Jones You Know That I Love You & Ruff Endz Someone To Love You. BTW those song were overplayed on "The Beat" and they will never get old. The last time heard You Know That I Love You on KJLH was in April 2003 and guess who played it Cliff Winston.

I heard the song this year on Kevin Nash show. The song is old so your not gonna hear it all the time. Its not even a recurrent on Urban AC radio. His hits You Know Whats Up w (Left Eye) and Where I Wanna Be get more airplay. They can edit any song in their production studio. Its been like that for years.

I know this for a fact. I hear U Know What's Up on KDAY and KJLH without Left Eyes rap. In 1999 when they used to play it on 92.3 The Beat they would play the Left Eye rap edit. I heard Where I Wanna Be on Power 105.1 in NY, KMEL San Fransico and occasionally on V-103 in ATL. BTW sorry to get off topic but I got tune in radio app. I've got KDAY, Power 106, V-103, WBLS and some throwback stations great app for my bus rides to and from school but back to Donell Jones You Know That I Love You, now I know that I won't hear it on some urban adult contemporary radio stations but I've hearing it on KJLH lately. About a week ago Nautica De La Cruz was playing it. I've heard it in March Lon Mc Q was playing it.
