Donny Osmond is coming... to WCBSFM.com/HD2.

That's right ladies & gents... not much to say but I browsed wcbsfm.com today and noticed the following on the page...

Beginning April 1st, Donny Osmond joins WCBS-FM.COM with his daily feature "8-Track Playback" - a look at this date in music history. We're delighted to have him as part of our radio family. Let Donny keep you young with the best pop, rock & soul!

So... um, welcome, Donny.. I guess?

Way to go Donny Osmond! He's having a new show coming to CBS-FM HD-2. I will look forward to record the aircheck when it comes on.

CBS FM HD 2?.........In short he'll be talking to no one. What a coup! first Mickey Dolenz and now Donny Osmond?.....I can't wait for the Herman's Hermits morning show!.

I am in my apartment about three blocks away from Donny's mansion here in Provo, Utah.

Personally, I think NYC will eat Donny alive. I'll still give it a listen once.

CBS HD2 streams, right?

Yup, right there at wcbsfm.com with the online player or you can use the following link if you prefer to play it in Winamp or Windows Media Player - mms://68.142.79.3/bdcast_infinity_wcbs-fm (copy and paste it, because trying to link it puts "http://" in front of it for some reason)

Enjoy ;D

REALLY? doesn't that defeat the whole purpose and "go buy an HD tuner" push?

I'm glad they stream CBSFM Oldies 101.1HD2 for people like me who live out of New York City & the listening area. Plus they stream it for people who want to listen at work and can't get reception of FM/AM/HD Radio in the office in nyc. But getting back to the subject, CBSFM could have done better than Donny Osmond, maybe work out something with the dj union to re-hire some of the former CBSFM jocks instead.

Mike, this isn't a CBS-FM thing per se. It's a syndicated show that WCBS-FMHD2-XYZPDQ is picking up. See http://www.8trackplayback.com/

Henry, the local to you (and me) affiliate will be KOSY.

The HD streams are online because otherwise nobody would hear them. And an internet stream is hardly portable like a "real" radio.
