Here's the question: If Donnie W. has in fact been given the kiss off from 500 Corporate Parkway, have any other Entercom employees been pink slipped? A friend who works there has said "if you make it through November, you're safe for another year." Apparently, November is the month for down-sizing at Entercom Buffalo and other markets too. In Boston, Entercom fired the entire news staff at WRKO-AM. Check the Boston Board for the reaction on that move.

Too bad about Donnie Walker. He was (is) a good CHR jock who might have been a victim of not one but two brodcasting malodies these days: Aging out of the CHR format (something Princess Janet did years ago) and collecting a sizeable pay check.

Dave would be very wise to snatch Donny up as I've not been too wild about the jocks I've heard on wild

They need more than Donny Walker to fix things. My suggestions for Wild:
--Get rid of Ellen K
--Get rid of the Desperate Housewives/DWTS recaps (it's not a talk/entertainment station, it's a music station)
--Get rid of Corey Mottley's stupid relationship/dating questions (see previous point)
--If you're targeting the average listener to CHR stations (whites in the 12-35 demographic), borrowing from WBLK's playlist doesn't usually help. I know Kiss and BLK's playlist overlap but even then it's VERY rare.

FMQB reports that Donnie Walker exits after nearly 18 years at WKSE

All Access reported his "exit" yesterday, and reported that Sue O'Neill is "open to all candidates". The wording makes it hard to determine if Donnie left, or was let go. It does list a phone number & e-mail address for Donnie, which would seem to indicated that he doesn't have a new (radio) gig.

They've rotated between Shannon Steele, Shy Guy Shawn, and another, younger person (possibly Reese or Jen, two of their PTers). My bet is that Shannon Steele will get the spot (makes sense since it's a time when a lot of females are listening).
If Niagara Broadcasting is able to pull out enough money to grab Donny Walker it will be a MAJOR get--they need a veteran presence behind the mic and Donny gives it to them. Hopefully the format wheel won't be spinning by the time he gets there...

Shannon is not too bad on the air, she has a good personality and seems to get the music. Perhaps works on the cheap doesnt hurt either.

DU was well known for being anti-voice-track. Does anyone think VT makes an appearance, stage-right?

what market is KC, i don't think it's even on the top 50 in the ADI. so I never worked in radio,but I do listen as a listener,which gives me more of unbiased view, I just call it like I hear it. No offense to you, but I think you were too much trying to be another Donnie Walker, but you could never equal Donny. Where are you now,posing on this board, because you can't get hired back at Kiss? Why don't you try to go back there, I'm sure they might consider a third rate Donny Walker.

Certainly no offense taken from you, don't flatter yourself. I'll mention your comments to Donnie the next time I speak to him, I'm sure he will get as good a laugh as I have.
