Don't call me stupid but: What is a TBD format?

I don't have HD yet, but KHPT supposedly runs a 90's format on the HD2. And doesn't KKBQ run Texas Country on their HD2?

Correct. KHPT-HD2 is a good station other than the few burned-out 80s tunes that don't belong there. I'm not a big country fan but I have checked out KKBQ-HD2 a couple of times...it does nothing for me. Also noteworthy: KLDE-HD2 is an awesome oldies station. It is a good compliment to the main channel. 2 questions: When will Country Legends go HD and when will CC dump the "Energy 96.5 HD2"?

What is wrong with Energy 96.5 HD2?

KRBE, KBXX, and KPTY have that ground covered. I'd like to see something not on the radio dial. Dance, Jammin, Pride...something different. CC has alot of good formats in their "Format Lab".

I myself really like energy 96.5 HD2. I think they are much better than KRBE. I have not even had a desire to listen KRBE ever since cumulus took over.

Jason, I respect Energy is slightly different than the other 3 stations I mentioned. On a positive note, I like their full-spectrum CHR playlist although I don't listen to most of the songs on it.

Slightly? No. If you were into CHR, you would understand that there is a big difference. It is a full CHR/Mainstream that is "new", and ahead of regular CHR radio. In comparison, KRBE is an AC station. KBXX is Urban, so it's not comparable. Apples and Oranges. and KPTY is Rhythmic with a focus on Hip Hop.

With KBXX and KPTY aside, let's look at the 'closest', KRBE and Energy demographically... two different 'TARGET' demographics...

KRBE: 25-54 (since cumulus)
Energy: 18-34

I clearly realize all 3 are different. For the most part, if one station is in someone's presets, the other 2 are (KRBE may not be too much longer). I was suggesting that most songs heard on Energy can be found on those 3 stations. I did not suggest they sounded the same or had the same target demographics.

I beg to differ that because somebody has Energy or KRBE in their presets, that "for the most part" KPTY or KBXX is in their presets. Hence my demographic comment.
