Don't Get It

At 5:00pm or so, I heard 99.9 The Wolf announce that Taylor Swift was playing at Gillette and that they were the first to announce this and giving away tickets. I had previously heard, AND an hour or so after the 99.9 The Wolf announcement, a promo on WPOR saying they had a big Taylor Swift Concert announcement tomorrow morning (Friday) at 7:30am????
I assume it's the same damn thing. How is it, that WPOR is promoting that they will be 15 hours later regarding their announcement of this event?? I really don't get it. It's like going out of your way to embarrass yourself. How does this happen??? How is it that there are two country competitors in a market and one is so far ahead of the other in making an announcement like this??? HUH??? Here's the real question. Does Cary give a sh** about anything else other than WGAN to allow this happen on the air (and apparently on their website at 10:37pm as I type) and to SELF PROMOTE this? Why WPOR would do this to themselves is the most bizarre thing I have seen in a long time.

You can't spell "Poor Programming" without POR! In fact you need "POR" twice for that!

Dropped the ball on that one, Matty Randi!

Seriously though, the big question is, who will get the buys and the premium giveaways?

Cheers,
OldPort Wino

Let me get this straight...

WPOR had the promo first but no details. Wolf swept in and actually started a contest after that fact, and then POR continued on with schedule rather than try to push their start date up?

That would appear to be exactly right Mark. Separately, I am howling when looking at WPOR's website....they're giving away a "$10,000" diamond ring from a PAWN BROKER. Not a jewelry store...a Pawn Broker!!! You just can't make this stuff up..Forget the fact how jewelry is priced and marked up and that the "$10,000" ring would be worth $750 if you even tried to sell it....a PAWN BROKER.
