Don't you hate hypocrites

I have always maintained that most tough talking talk radio hosts are true cowards and just like to hide and shout behind the safety of a microphone rather than follow what they often preach. Today there was yet another example of this:

This afternoon that tough guy John Kobylt was falling all over himself laughing at Anderson Cooper and Christianne Amanpour's experience at confronting the unruly mobs in Egypt. However just barely a few weeks ago, John himself urinated and deficated over himself in sheer fear after thinking he was being followed by a hispanic guy in that dangerous war zone known as La Verne. He drove in cirlces like a fearful weasel and hid in residential streets covered in sweat.

This certainly doesn't sound like his tough talking radio personna, telling everyone to march in the streets and ignore the rules. Hmmm, the word hypocrite comes to mind.

I'm more or less a liberal, and I don't like right-wing radio talk hosts - so I don't listen. But having said that, I've observed that there's a lot of hypocrisy on both sides of the political spectrum. I know a number of fellow liberals who are big advocates for government programs, and would prefer a European like socialist safety-net system, yet they personally complain about high taxes. I know that a few of these people receive a good portion of their income in the "cash" economy. Do you think they declare this income to the IRS, so they can help promote the social safety net that they advocate? No, they do not, they hide this income from the 'tax-man.'

I've always found this to be the height of hypocrisy.

I would also consider myself a liberal. I also know many fellow 'liberals' who don't see it as their patriotic duty to pay taxes, even though they also advocate big government programs. On the flip side, I've known many conservatives who are more than happy to put their hand in the pot and let Medi-Cal pick up the tab for their baby born out of wedlock.

Talk radio is an interesting beast because it seems to solidify people's opinions- whether they be on the left and right. Its a sad state of affairs that real debate seems to have disappeared from the airwaves, radio and television. The Founding Fathers would be sorely disappointed in what has happened to the beloved Fourth Estate- as real journalism has been replaced with tabloid, celebrity, and stroking the political egos of those who already have an entrenched ideology.

The John and Ken Show is just that...a SHOW. It is not to be taken seriously. It is for entertainment purposes only! Anyone can figure that out after listening to those goofballs for just one week!

Isn't that the same line Rush Limbaugh uses on his radio show, to distance himself from critics who claim he is merely an inflammatory sphincter?
