bobby: no, i do get what you're goal is. jerry too. i love the music, too. i own original pressings of the del vikings 'come go with me'/'whispering bell' on red fee-bee, 'i'll be forever loving you' by jordon & the fascinations on yellow dapt, cleftones on red gee 1001. i know the music, i know the history.

To am/fm/sw...Bobby is right on. You are right off. Who cares what records you have in your collection. There are plenty, lots, millions of people who still enjoy the harmony sounds of doo wop music. You, sir, may not. That's the wonder of YOUR radio, you don't have to listen.
Bobby, keep playin' the marvelous doo wops forever. You rock! You have an audience of appreciative folks. Keep up the great work and the sounds of harmony alive. Thanks for all you do.

Hey Bobby B, who does this song...Elizabeth....on this WMOD 98.7 DC compilation, it is near the end. Also, anyone who wants to remember some of the Philly radio stations from the past can check out the .....stevations.....youtube channel.

"amfmsw", let tell you this my man, great people like "Cool Bobby B, Ron Noorwood" and many others truely, truely love and collect the music they play. They grew up with it and have not deviated from it just to "fit in" and gain more listeners. We play to a particular group of listeners. And if you noticed, it is ONLY the Corporate stations that are being resistant to carrying more Doo Wop programs. It is the independent stations that still carry vocal group harmony. Why? well, it is because the younger audience has the most disposable income. They do not pay "Rent, Mortage,Utilities, Health Care" etc, so they can buy the CD's, $125.00 Sneakers, $100.00 Jeans etc. So Corporate Radio will pander to the younger crowd for the purpose of getting Corporate Advertisers, who also pander their products to a younger crowd, to buy expensive spots. They want you to think Doo Wop doesn't sell, BULLS..T. The Corporate owners of radio stations are not lovers of music,PERIOD!!! It's an investment, nothing more, and they will go from genre to genre, format to format till they find the one that brings in the most cash. They are the people that destroyed Terrestrial Radio. Now you say that it's "boring", you just want to hear the hits, Well, that's because you are not a true lover of the genre, for if you were, then you would love to hear the "B" sides, the obscure groups, the album cuts, the groups that never broke out locally because of payola and racism. My show, "The Doo Wop Vault" http://www.doowopvault.podomatic.com in the music category of the podcast, out of 332 music programs, my show has stood at #1 in the ratings for over 5 months. I love what I play, and I will not become a professional button pusher, playing anything a program director puts in front of me,just for the prestige of saying I work at so & so radio station. As the old saying goes, "I play from the heart and not a corporate chart".
