I heard 15 minutes of Doris Monson today. She was all atwitter over some Lake Chelan land scam, proclaiming how important her family is and now she owns land there, too. Dear Doris: how much did you pay? Are you going to inform the IRS about your windfall?

Doesn't anyone here really think that a radio putz hawking parcels of land shouldn't disclose his interest in the company? BTW - it's funny how these land companies keep coming up with plots. At first it's "There's only seven left - better hurry!" A week later, there's a new dozen plots. Hmmmm.

And you really have to admire the gumption behind promo'ing Ron & Don going to four hours as "public demand." Uh-huh. I'm sure R&D beat down Bonneville's door, demanding an extra hour, which works out to an extra show a week. I guess there's always the "at least they have jobs" card. The way things are going, might want to add ... "for now."

Two final things.

I don't mind Dave Ross but I find him doing 2 weeks of shows from his old bedroom at home to be incredibly light and nearly juvenile. And much of the audio on 97.3 - mostly spots - sounds muffled and squashed to me. Will that get better as old audio is replaced?

No....actually it's not..it's actually rather amusing and I LOVE every minute of it !
Doris brings it on herself just in the way she comports herself on the air and the self righteousness that permeates through her voice and unfortunately through our speakers Monday-Friday.
 
Hey KC - it's a big board. Plenty of places for you to go besides a thread written by a dude who's just not that funny.

Jensen - "hate" is such an ugly word. Just a strong dislike. And if I can't post my dislike of a radio host on a radio forum, then ... what would you suggest? That every post here be from an on-air personality's fan club? I don't hate. I forget about the clown when I turn the radio off. Besides, at least two of us like it, soooo ...

My 15 minutes of Doris today was an absolute hoot. I honestly think Monsoon is in the wrong profession. She should be an investigative reporter for a TV tabloid "news" show, That's how O'Reilly started out before morphing in a baboonish caricature, stirring up the stained pants brigade.

Today her voice was an octave higher than usual (and that's not good, seeing as she already sounds as if she's talking through a layer of cheesecloth) as she railed against Gregoire and the state deficit. It was HER story! Only SHE knew the truth! Why aren't more of the sheep listening to HER? It was pretty entertaining - maybe even worth 5 billion. How dare the gubmint ask her for more cash!! And then she took a break to pimp vacation property that she'd gotten a sweet deal on. Then more pimpage from a Jag-Land Rover dealer that supplies her with wheels. Yup, this is one trustworthy loudmouth.

Why isn't TBTL given an extra hour? Maybe at least every other day. That way we could alternate the audio torture.

Envy.

Tell me you wouldn't like to speak your mind for three hours a day, five days a week and not only be paid a boatload of cash but also have advertisers lining up to get you to endorse their wares.

Uh-huh. Didn't think so. And don't bother trying to come up with any cute replies.
 
SRP - No cute replies. I've done the talk radio thing and didn't like it. It takes waaaay too much egotistical mememe to want to hear my voice rattling around my headphones for hours a day. I make GREAT cash and have had my share of free stuff for pimpin' - but anyone can say that and I'm not about to try and prove it to you so I guess it's your turn to come up with a cute put down of these sentences.

Here's one thing I'm SURE of.

After years online, anyone with a board handle like "pro" or "guru" or "big voice" or "mr.smooth" or "awesome pipes" - that kind of self-inflated fantasy - is usually very difficult to communicate with. Your board name says it all, "pro" - there's nothing more I can add. But I do have a question -

Are you any relation to the "pros" working Aurora Avenue?
