Dorrough 3-band processor

I see the Dorrough "Discriminate Audio Processors" (DAP) on EBay once in awhile. I worked at a station when I was 16, where I remember seeing these things in a rack, but personally have never worked much with them. I'm seeking a 3-band processor because of how smooth they sound vs. a wide-band.

Anyone ever use one? Are they worth picking up off EBay?
