Dothan Radio...

After an observation week-end across the dial I came upon the follwing findings...

WDJR- Had dead air Friday night from about 10:00ish til at least midnight. Quite unexpected from TRP.
WRJM-Dead air Saturday morning during Coast to Coast
WJRL-Sounded pretty rocky and going for the males...I was under the impression that MY 103.9 was going for the demo Tragic ran away from KMX.
kmx-well they sucked! Horrible coverage, couldn't pick them up in Midland City, also very rock leaning
WOOF-Hats off, sounded pretty good.
WLDA-Very weak signal couldn't scan or seek you guys out, but what I heard was very disapointing sound, the sound on the FOX was very well.
WBDT-Sounded great if you like the Twangs...

Also noticed that Wilson Broadcasting moved...anyone know when? Just my 2 cents and observations.

Wilson moved about two weeks ago into the new convention center that Mr. Wilson has built on the Circle in front of the (his and Mathie's) new Holiday Inn Express. The studios are on the second floor looking out on Ross Clark Circle. Very nice, quite an upgrade from the previous downtown location. If he does proper signage the location could make a significant difference in their Arbitron rankings.

And, as far as sound quality, you should check out WVVL when you are on the West side of Dothan. The best by far, congrats to M Holderfield the guru of broadcast engineering for the area (if you include PC, must also include Wooten). Hey prox, if you really want an OMG moment, drive to Wicksburg and compare kmx and VVL on your car radio and hear a 6000 (?, maybe 3?) watter kick a 100,000 class c's fanny. Truely a WOW moment.

You are right Stewy...Thanks for reminding I did listen to WVVL and they were kicking...if they had just an ounce or two of more power they would be a major player!

Oh how it pains me to say this, but Stewage is correct. Bounced between kmx and WVVL. Wow. Excellent job Mikie! Did the same between 1039 and 1025. Radio People were also bright and clear..nice thump, with actual high end…cymbals that sounded like..cymbals! Again, not so on Magic. Kmx and JRL sounded like they were under a thick blanket.
