So, The Radio People buy Magic, then fire Brett Mason. Next they wipe out the entire staff of 93.7, bring in a replacement for Brett who promptly moves David Sommers to middays, and Skip Nelson to afternoons. Then he bombs on the show in less than a month and has to swap shifts with Sommers. Now Bud Ford is MIA on the morning show at 95.5. This is fascinating stuff, but the most amazing thing of all is, there are no posts about any of this on this board. Dothan, where are you?

Oh, I'm sure we'll see plenty of first-time posters soon. Not like they have anything better to do down there.

No one can post. No one that is employed.

I'd post some things but I don't care. Well maybe one thing...the
best plan is to leave kickin tracking a 3rd country format? to what end?

Anyways, good luck and God speed to everyone still employed in Dothan.

Me too, and I'm still employed. What's your point Geraldo?

lol. I can walk to. But choose to not walk into fire.

If anyone really felt free to post and comment on the radio situation in Dothan then
the boards would be filled up with speculation. All of the things that are spoken
only in private now, phone calls, texts etc would be filling up this board.

So sure, you can post. But not really :)

With nothing but love for all broadcasters in Dothan.

Peace

**Someone was worried I was gonna say things I've been told weren't you? Admit it!

Don't worry, I'm not like that :)

Looks like FM talk returns.. bold move as were saturated with country music!

Good move, guys (not a new poster)

What are you speaking of rob? It's been on 105.3 for a couple of years now. Oh, just realized, robfwb (fort walton beach?), when it's moved to 93.7 it'll get way down into the panhandle, if they flip the stereo off then to the beach. Y'all haven't an fm down there with nt?

I think it's time to put this nick to rest. I might not be FWB for long. Hee. even during down tropo times I'm still picking up 93.7 and the big dog. (will invest in a directional antenna sometime)

Nope. We've got one big a$$ format hole here in North West Florida. Mobile's FM news/talk doesn't reach Florida. Fort Walton's FM news/talk doesn't reach Fort Walton (that's not a typo). Panama City's news/talk stations don't reach Destin. Pensacola doesn't have any FM news/talk but we do have 4 AM news/talk stations plus good reception of WWL.

I rarely disagree with Mr. Poledo.....WFLF would cover Destin...if Hale's translator was not on the same freq.....but I am splitting hairs here.

Let me rephrase my post:

Fort Walton's news/talk FM isn't capable of covering Fort Walton because Panama City's new/talker is so well engineered that it wipes the FWB signal off the dial.
Panama City's WFLF has a huge signal along the Emerald Coast beaches. It stops the seek button in Pensacola 4-5 days a week all year long... probably the easiest Panama City station to pick up over here. Panama City is well taken care of but the Fort Walton and Pensacola markets don't have easy access to local news/talk on FM and no one appears to want to do anything about it.

How long has WUSD been simulcasting News Talk 105.3? I heard WDBT on 93.7 a couple hours ago up here in Lee County. What are the plans for WDBT?

It looks like two Meridan stations will go Non-Com.

Holladay had to take them out of the competitive situation someway. He probably ran out of brothers/cousins/friends/puppets/ to fake buy them . As Non-Coms they are not a threat to his monopoly. They are making a mockery out of the FCC ownership rules as well as general commerce rules. The FCC let them get away with this crap in Monroe, so why not use this same modus operandi in Dothan and Meridian? The horse is out of the barn. The FCC has their heads up their azz's. Expect more of this.
I have to agree with zuzu, they must have goat pictures.
