Dottie Rambo killed in tour bus accident..

Singer/songwriter Dottie Rambo, who was a prolific songwriter in the Southern Gospel music field
died early Sunday in a tour bus accident. She was 74.

Rambo wrote more than 2,500 gospel songs, including "We Shall Behold Him."

Wow...one never knows their end. The Rambos have such legend in Christian songwriting and music. A sad loss to us on earth but a Jewel shining in Heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends. As one who has written music for churches in my past I know the impact songs have (it's like double power prayer) on people.

I am shocked and saddened. Though I favored CCM over southern gospel I must credit Dottie for her songwriting and singing talents. I remember The Rambos did a backup on a song for Richard Betts(of The Allman Bros. Band) on a solo album he did around 1973 or so which was the first time I heard of Dottie and the group.
The album was a unique mixture of southern music styles...almost everything from gospel to western swing to blues. A very creatively done album.

My sympathies for Dottie and for the repose of her soul and the consolation of her family, freinds and fans.
