Double Duty For Double L At iHeartMedia Phoenix

Mix 96.9, Feel Good With The Best Mix of the 90s to Now, announced today that Double L will host PM Drive, effective immediately. Double L will bring her high energy to the station and broadcast weekdays from 3 – 7 p.m. In addition, Double L will continue to serve as music director and midday host for iHeartMedia Phoenix’s 102.5 KNIX.

“Double L’s brand is right in line with our ‘feel good’ image on Mix 96.9, and this is an opportunity to utilize her unique ability to captivate listeners on more than one station,” said Steve Geofferies, Regional Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Phoenix.

Are they dropping Seacrest?

So it would appear, unless they're moving him to mid-days.

This is a rare iHeart station that eschews the syndication for local. One of the rules I was taught in radio school is you don't put one DJ on two stations in the same market. It causes "brand confusion." I guess they don't care.

Well in the new paradigm, "local" is a relative term. That said, if they're replacing Seacrest with Lois, that might very well make Mix one of the more "local" Mix stations in their portfolio. Last time I checked Matthew Blades still does the show from Tempe, and having another "local" personality tracking the afternoons? What's next...live jocks?
