Noticed Arrow actually playing classic rock instead of 80's hair bands--has there been a management or programming change?
 
Just curious Great108, but does "Double O" or "Great108" have anything to do with WPFM-FM / THE GREAT 108, and/or their request line...234-"Double-O Double-O"?
 
HELL(O) NO --- today's tin canned crap on that frequency is a joke. As is Double Nada.

The call letters WPFM
The moniker "The Great 108"
The phrases "Rockin the Gulf Coast"; "Rockin The World's Most Beautiful White Sands Beaches" and "Panama City's Great 108"
Real Music that was not forgotten six months later
Thousands of cars blasting 107.9 when there were FUN things to do on Front Beach Road
And actually taking requests at 234-Double0Double0

are just part of the scared treasures, along with a ton of great people that broke the mics of what was truly the best station with a live heart beat that most of us old guys know and love.



Today is just a shell. And its sad. They just cant do it like that anymore. OR wont. No, can't.

you have got to get me some of that Hendrick's Tibbs.....oh, and thank you but I think it is only 4 (not 7) of em if I remember right...12+........I still V-100 is a stunt.....I can't believe that is a REAL format....but what do I know about programming and formats....I just an injun ear.

I promise, if my next attempt to see you actually friggin works, I am bringing three bottles. Two for us. And one for rob so he will light up like a strobey. Unsure of what color robs strobe would be.

Project about complete here, and after the oil wastola, I am ready to come back to them thar beeches almost for good. Guess I can work at a drive thru.

Congrats. I still contend the fact that your stations actually work help in them numerical thingys. ;D
 
Tibbs2...I get the feeling I should apologize or something. Didn't mean to bring up any repressed memories. I just don't know any of you guys here...but I just had some flashbacks myself that ranged from about '74 to '80. Oh, and I still haven't heard "officially" from Great108...
 
No issues, we have rehashed WPFM a hundred times on here and it gets lots of comments. Mid 80's is all I knew, but the stories prior are all pretty hilarious and incredible. That thing had a heart. Double 00 has about killed it. I wonder if it still qualifies for the station that has always been rock (vs. talk, country, etc.) in the country.
