Double O Columbia...No more??

I heard that Double O was sold to WACH-TV? Is this true? Anyone know anything, I'm going to ask around.

yes it's true. Double O and Barrington Broadcast Group always were connected somehow. The waiting game is on...WWNU-same format? WWNQ-same format?

This makes sense. They both have the same ad rates and ratings (ouch, sorry)

Also, don't forget Tim Miller works for both. So they could already have their programmer in place.

With all that is going on in broadcasting you're right that would make sense. I bet you're also right they would use Tim Miller for programming. If that's the case it can only help those stations. Wonder what they will do now? Format changes etc?

My understanding this is strictly a consolidation move. Tim Miller is not part of the radio group and will not be programming or having any part of the radio operations. Good Day may be Good Bye soon!...just the word on the streets........

Friend of mine who I guess knows the sales manger over at WACH says that Tim Miller, the TV engineer and sales manger over there will be working at the radio stations. As long as those stations get better, Mickey Mouse could run them as far as I'm concerned.

The sales manager and chief engineer are part of the consolidation effort. However, due to internal problems, it appears that Tim Miller's acceptance by corporate is on the down and out. He may do some commecials but he will not be involved with programming, radio management or sponsorship. He really needs to move on and start anew in another market. There are great things, according to a friend of mine that knows Barringtons' infrastructure, coming to both radio and tv.

LOL. It looks like radionewsdude has it out for Miller for some reason. Anyone can tell by what you are saying you have some connection with Double O. I just hope your company gets who or whatever it needs for it to have success. On another note, is it true about Brain James the voice guy, did he pass away?

No Transfer of Control applications have been filed, so unless there is no change in ownership structure, any Barrington/Double O restructuring isn't going to happen anytime soon.

That's pretty much it DudeFan. As far as me or anyone else having it out for Miller, nobody really cares. I explicitly stated that the word is he is out of the picture. There are alot of talented programmers out of work out there to choose from......that know this market. Personally, I would like to see both stations go live....but then who wouldn't. At least it would put some talent back to work.

Dunno. But now WWNQ went from being buried on the dial to having the audio cranked to 15 (of out 10). Now you can at least hear the automation miss all the cues.

Latest 12+ has both stations pretty much stuck to where they were at sign on almost 4 years ago.

Well, the latest from what I've heard...is that the deal with WACH and Double O is still not done. And Chuck...who is the GM?? is out or soon to be. The manger of WACH will moving his people in. Either way something has to be done with those stations. 94 is embarrassing and 92 is well, 92! What a waste of two sticks!
