Double O swallows up much of its competition.

As if Double O didn't own enough stations in the Norwich/Oneonta area, now they are buying WDOS/WSRK. Considering that they already own EIGHT other stations in the region, and hope to build a new station (on 97.5), might this deal be flagged for market concentration?
I'm sure it will go through eventually, but it would seem to me that they already have a near lock on the advertising revenues in the region.
We can only hope that their next conquest won't be WCDO. I was in the area this summer, and caught that station for a bit. Great community based AC radio! I don't know for sure, but I think they even still sign off the air at midnight (gasp!). Great live and local radio, the kind of thing companies like Double O love to squelch.

Craig Stevens has a really great operation going at WCDO. I had the opportunity to do a little production and air work for him back in 2000 & 2001 to help him out. It's a nice, classy operation where the people who work there are happy, the management treats them well, and Craig is a great guy. And yeah, I think they DO still sign off at midnight! Hope that O & O doesn't get a chance to put that in the toilet!
