Double R from KISW/BJ's Show GONE?

Rumor has it that Rick Robertson AKA "Double R" from KISW has been terminated or suspended from work for a no-call/no-show on Friday last week.

Yes...SRD...

God forbid anyone talks about Seattle radio on a Seattle radio forum.

SRP? What's your deal?

I'm sorry. I study shows like BJ's and am a huge fan of the Seattle market...That doesn't give me the right to post 'questions and information' here on this forum?

What difference does it make where someone listens? And there is a cut in the BJ budget....I bet more to come.....

I know with the addition of music to BJ's program, there's less talk time available. All I know is that I completely hated the music but the show still had personality. Now, there's an obvious gaping hole in the show. I don't see or understand how losing a key member of the show 'helps' anything. The show sounds like sh*t now. It used to be a unique talk show, now they sound like "Bob and Steve in The Morning!", a morning show I can hear in any small/medium market in the United States. I think this entire situation is just the beginning of the end of BJ's run on KISW. I also don't understand who BJ's radio show appeals to anymore. It also seems KISW is content with being the #3 Classic Rock station in town behind KJR-FM and KZOK while trying to protect KNDD.

WOW, that took 3 weeks? This thread started 8/19 and TODAY he announces it?

Typical BJ Fashion as of late.

And yet you still listen to him...

Rick released this statement via his Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/dubR99

What a great ride! 8 years at Entercom! #1 in Seattle on The Buzz!!! The only show in America to take over for Howard Stern on terrestrial radio and inherit his ratings taking them to an even more #1 platform!!! Unbelievable!!!! Working on THE greatest heritage Rock radio station in the WORLD for so many years... was a truly a privilege and an honor that I respect deeply!

Thanks to all the talented peeps at Entercom for being such an awesome team! I appreciate getting to know each and every one of you!

99.9 FM KISW... Thanks for the memories!

Steve... The Greatest Producer on the Planet, Topshelf... the man behind the laugh that will NEVER die, Rev, Nick, Vicky, Annabelle, Thee Ted Smith, Ben, Thrill, Miles, Castle, Jolene, Jeetz, BT, Mischa, and the rest of the Promo team... Steve Fries, Seanny Mac, Jen Richards, Jim Small, Catie Beck, J-Wis and the rest of your relentless sales squad! Former Rock homies Ricker and Steve Rauch, Kevin from Metal Shop, and anyone else that happened to fill in during our dominance of softball with The Foul Balls!

BJ... Well... there's so many different things I'd like to say to a man that has seen me at my peaks and valleys time and time again... I'll start by saying thanks. Thanks for believing in me. Thanks for recognizing the talent that I bring to this world. It was amazing taking over Seattle radio together for quite some time! You've taught me a lot throughout the years! I can only hope you'd say the same about me. Even though we fought more than most could ever imagine... for a lifetime, I cherished every moment we spent making Seattle laugh... sometimes cry... sometimes get angry... sometimes people learned things from us... mostly what NOT to do when coming from me! You're a good man Mr. Shea. At any rate... Good luck & Namaste!

Dave Richards... aka Sgt. Hairclub... you're so good at running radio stations. The best in the biz. We've all been lucky to have worked with you! Thanks for all the coaching and inspiration. Even when I didn't agree with what you were saying... I trusted you were always doing what's best for the radio station. Now you've got some pretty big ****ing shoes to fill! (Size 13!) Good luck with that!

Of course where would I be without the Rock Girls!?? Thank you for gracing our station halls (and walls) with your undying beauty and your perfect smiles! XOXO

And last... but certainly the furthest from the least! ......to all my fans.... thank you so much for the countless notes of encouragement and support! Without you, none of what I've accomplished is even possible! Be ready for the next chapter of my career! I've got some amazing opportunities right around the corner!!! I'm going to need all of you to come along for the ride! I can't wait to entertain you all again and again!

There's only one,
-RR

It's doesn't matter what you say to me. I haven't listened since the music was implemented. Personally, BJ and his crew produce the same kind of radio I can hear in Boise. There's nothing 'special' about his show anymore. His show will be done on KISW in under a year, mark my words.

this double R character, sure knows not to burn any bridges, judging from his "good riddance" ass kiss letter. he thanked everyone but the KISW janitor, who cleaned out his locker.

so whats next for double R??? a shot at KIRO FM?? "the ron and don and double R show"

signed: double S

A lot of times he overdid the stupid, but he provided more than his fair share of laughs. I'll miss his Nut Hut and Outpick Lil' Mick.
Hope to hear him again somewhere. Good luck, Double R.

What, was there a blue light special on exclamation points at K-Mart? I choked with laughter reading the "Double R" post. A third grader with a learning disability could form more discernible sentences than this lunkhead.

As to following his "scary" talent to his next stop on the dial...I simply can't wait. "Dis is gonna be da greatest move in da world". I love that he talks like he is a NY tough guy, when in fact he is from Bellingham. Poor Bellingham.
