Now that Clear Channel's KLAC has shuttled the "XTRA Sports" moniker, John Lynch should
work on bringing it to XPRS. The Double-X identity is pretty lame. XTRA Sports would test
through the roof with Men 25-54.

Would John be able to use the XTRA Sports name? I'm assuming that the XTRA Sports name is trademarked to Clear Channel and thus, he would have to buy the rights to the name, even though he was the one who created it.

Xtra Sports 1090 would be great but I thought they should have just kept The Mighty 1090 name. I understand why they called it Double X sports radio but when Jerry Coleman is doing the Pads game and has a little faux paux and he calls it "Triple X Sports Radio", you know its time for a name change. Sorry, no disrespect to the Colonel. :)

That's a good question. You're probably right. But it's a bit confusing. If CC still owned XTRA-690 it would be one thing. I am not sure if they retain So California rights to that moniker, they may have registered it
nationally, I don't know. Double XX is more of a nickname or secondary line, it doesn't brand the station very strongly. XTRA Sports is powerful.

Oh, they're still picking up the old shows from Premiere until October or something? I'm not aware of any others doing this, but I do now recall the option was available. Thanks
