DOUG JONES - Deputy, traffic guy, friend

Sad news for those who knew Hinds County Sheriff's Deputy Doug Jones. He was on air as the traffic reporter for Arrow 94 before the switch to JACK. He was also a great friend and law enforcement officer. Doug passed away this weekend while attending a Harley Davidson rally in Louisiana. He had an appearant heart attack on Saturday. He loved his bike and this rally was his favorite event every year.

We'll miss you big Doug...ride on brother.

I thought that name was ringing a bell to me for some reason. Yes, I do remember Doug's traffic reports on Arrow and Rock 93-9. He was rather young, too (42?). My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and colleagues.

By all accounts a super guy. So many people took time out to be a part of his service. His sudden passing is a reminder that we are not promised tomorrow...

In a tragic turn of events, his wife died Friday from pancreatitis, leaving behind a teenager daughter, their only child.

I was totally blown away to hear that news. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of both Doug and his wife and of course their daughter.
