Doug Meehan Will Not Be Back At Fox 25

Can't blame him for that decision. I was not surprised to read that the station's news ratings have taken such a dive. :-[

Still, work is work. And there's a lot of competition out there - looking for ever fewer slots.

And my question is: what other opportunities? Judging from the fact that he's still on the beach, Doug isn't exactly a hot commodity. Personally, this would seem to be a mistake on his part - unless there's more to it than what was described in the article. This comes off as Meehan having an inflated sense of "self".

included a two-year contract which he did not want to be locked into
How many others would love--Battenfeld-- to be "locked in" for two?
