Doug Richards on the WSB Radio downsizing

http://liveapartmentfire.com/2008/10/27/wsb-radio-woes/

Former WAGA-TV reporter Doug Richards noted on his blog about last week's downsizing at Cox Radio, particularly the layoffs of several WSB-AM reporters.

He does not mention WGST...which means he acknowleges what we all know about WGST. He mentions that WSB radio could resort to TV reporters in the future, leaving WABE 90.1 as the only station with a news department.

If he is right...I guess public radio will do like they did with classical music, and pick up the scraps commercial radio does not want (a news operation).

And generally do a better job at it.
