DOWNSIZING AT ENTERCOM INDY

Entercom supposedly has a significant number of people on the downsizing list nationwide. Any ideas about who is scheduled to depart the Indy cluster?

Entercom is also suspending its matching contributions to the 401(k) plan.
 
They already downsized Ann Duran & Tom Berg. The XNT morning show producer has now moved on and is not being replaced with a new hire. Not sure if any ZPL people have been affected.
 
Here's another one: the syndicated Ryan Seacrest takes over at WZPL 4-7pm to fill the void as Kelly McKay "takes a leave of absence" (until sales pick up).
 
I hope Seacrest helps the struggling time slot, since that radio is struggling, & that they need more stars, despite all the syndicated shows & the voicetracking, too. It doesn't mean that radio will be dead, radio will continue to be healthier as it has for many years.
 
ya, just what we need more cookie cutter radio...in a time when the public needs live people behind the mic...we put in more bs.
 
Kelly has been doing her show from one of the Carolina's for a year
or maybe more.
 
Kelly you are so good at what you do, best of luck. As far as the very beige Ryan Seacrest show, chalk it up to another of those fine corporate management decisions of today.

Let's see, a dynamic redhead who works HARD to make it local because she has to be somewhere else while doing the show...( a sick parent took her back home). OR Ryan Seacrest. Mediocrity at it's best.

I think I'm going to throw up.
 
Before we go blaming Entercom for this, take a look at Kelly's page on WZPL.com. It seems that she has requested the time off and this could be a temporary thing and Seacrest will be moved to another timeslot when she returns. Most likely middays as other markets have placed him.

You may have noticed Hunter and Ryan Seacrest sharing duties in the afternoon hours; so, now you want to know ... where's Kelly? Kelly requested an extended leave of absence. She has promised to return as soon as her leave of absence is over. We hope that is soon. She does such a great show, we decided the only way to deliver the same quality for her listeners was by enlisting the help of a megastar like Ryan Seacrest. He'll cover things until Kelly is back and then move to new hours. Meanwhile, we're sure you'll love his show from our new Z99.5 studios in Hollywood!
