Dr. Bill not wasting time....others, too!

Dr. Bill is already "moving on".

The former weekend legend of KGO's late night 10 pm to 1 am slot who, after decades of work at KGO, has found a new "job."

After a few minute interview last Saturday morning on KSCO -- where former Ronn Owens producer, Mark Silverman works now, Mike Zwerling got Dr. Bill to say "I'd like to be on in Santa Cruz ... let's talk."

Two days ago, Dr. Bill "auditioned" from noon-to-two for a one-day tryout and announced on his website that he's doing same on Friday, the 9th, from 4-7 p.m.

He will, reportedly, be doing morning drive from 6-9 this coming Monday thru Friday on KSCO as well.

Congratulations to Dr. Bill. Be sure to read Rich Lieberman's column today for a few choice words from Dr. Bill regarding the Karel debacle ... and, the response entitled "That's, Rich, Lieberman".

Rich -

You need not be an apologist for this unprofessional temper tantrum on a few stations ... still, including KGO. He buried himself.

Put the dirt over the grave.

Morning drive? That's the most preposterous slot anybody could imagine. I guess it's MZ's idea that a high-profile host like Wattenburg belongs in the daypart that would get the most listeners. That part makes sense; but what doesn't make sense is Wattenburg in that slot. He's not a morning guy unless he has some totally different schtick up his sleeve.

I thought Dr Bill would just fade away. That Santa Cruz station is in a time warp, or was...I haven't heard it for a while. As far as Bill v. Karel... this stuff goes back to when Joe Dolan had a running feud with Pat Michaels....or Jim Eason v Bernie Ward, etc. it makes for good ratings and radio.
